Shayp 2025: A Year of Impact

As we close out 2025, we're taking a moment to reflect on what we've accomplished together. Water challenges aren't getting smaller, but the community working to solve them keeps growing.

Partnerships that matter

This year brought new collaborations that will shape how we approach water efficiency for years to come.

We signed a 10-year partnership with Microsoft to equip 125 schools across Brussels and 500 public buildings in Paris with intelligent water monitoring. Once the mission is completed, we will save enough water annually to meet the total needs of over 6,250 people, based on an average consumption of 50 m³ per person.

Google joined the mission too, committing to equip 240 community buildings in Belgium with Shayp technology by 2030.  Based on our average saving rate of 20% per building, this initiative has the potential to prevent over 100,000 m³ of annual water waste at full scale.

We also launched the Smart Region Brussels project alongside Orange and Irisnet, integrated with Energisme's energy management platform to give buildings a complete view of their resource consumption, and partnered with Revalio to layer water expertise on top of our technology.

Making water efficiency accessible

We launched Shayp 4Impact this year, a programme where corporate partners sponsor intelligent water monitoring for public buildings. Through this water offsetting model, corporations fund the installation and first-year subscription, helping schools and public facilities save water while advancing their own water replenishment goals. The buildings monitor their water, detect leaks early, and report their savings back to the sponsor through the Shayp replenishment fund. It's a practical solution that makes technology accessible where it's needed most while creating measurable impact for both parties.

If you're a public building looking to reduce water waste, apply for Shayp 4Impact. If you're a corporation ready to sponsor water efficiency and achieve your sustainability goals, get in touch to learn how you can participate.

Real results from real buildings

Some of our most rewarding moments came from seeing the technology work exactly as intended.

Lidl's deployment continues to deliver results. After equipping 85% of their water meters with Shayp monitoring, they've maintained their impressive track record of water efficiency. In 2025, Lidl saved 59,146 m³ of water across its facilities. They saw a 27% drop in their annual consumption.

Staying true to our values

We're proud to have passed our B Corp recertification this year. We first became B Corp certified in January 2022, joining a global community of businesses committed to balancing profit with purpose. B Corp certification means we meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. It's independently verified proof that we're building a business that creates value for everyone, not just shareholders. The recertification process happens every three years and pushes us to keep improving. It's a reminder that how we do business matters as much as the impact we create.

Expanding our reach

Shayp technology now operates across 12 countries: the UK, Spain, France, Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Denmark and Slovenia. From 6,953 connected water meters monitoring buildings worldwide in 2025, we're seeing tangible impact:

  • 10.03 million m³ of water saved (enough to fill over 4,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools)
  • €47.25 million in cost savings for our clients
  • 85,408 leaks resolved
  • 1.50 million kg of CO₂ emissions avoided

These numbers represent real change happening in buildings every day. Want to understand how we calculate this impact? Read our methodology here.

Looking ahead

While the figures from 2025 are a testament to what technology can achieve, they are also a reminder of the work ahead. Water scarcity is no longer a distant threat but a current reality. However, as we’ve seen through our partnerships with Microsoft, Google, and Lidl, the tools to solve this crisis already exist.

Our goal for 2026 is to move faster, bridging the gap between corporate responsibility and public need. We invite you to join this growing ecosystem; whether as a partner, a sponsor, or a facility manager, your next drop saved is a contribution to a water-secure future.
